The Big Vacation - Day One

I am going to get this vacation blogged before attacking the move.  I think I'm just procrastinating the inevitable and this seems like a semi-productive method.  Instead of a great big long post, I have decided to break down our trip into smaller posts.  So enjoy our little vacation in "real time".  Welcome to Day One!

Last Saturday we picked Dad up from work and headed out to Twssassen to the ferry.  It was the first time for most of our kids to ride a boat so big and they had a great time exploring every inch of it.  But the arcade was the winning location.  We let them each play a couple games, then made them stand outside on the deck in the wind and enjoy looking at the islands as we floated by.

We arrived in Victoria and made our way to our hotel.  For anyone going this way with a family, I would highly recommend the City Center HoJo.  We got this room for $124 and I would think back to it fondly while lying in a tent in the rain.  It had....

...not two (King size and double)...

...not three...

...but four beds in it.  This queen was in its own room with its own t.v., so for the first night the older kids watched their fill of YTV without the rest of us having to suffer.  We also had a kitchenette and a pool.  Loads of fun for us since we never stay in hotels.

After that it was a late night leading into an early morning for Day Two.
