$4 Fun

A couple weeks ago the kids and I watched some video of Old Faithful and talked about why geysers happen.  Today, we made our own.  I'm sure you know how, but in case you've been living under a rock (hee hee), here's how to have your own $4 fun:

1. Buy a 2L Diet Coke and a pack of Mentos
2. Go to an open area
3. Put the mentos in the bottle.  Tip: it will blow fast, so get ready to run.  A good idea is to make a tube out of paper like a funnel that fits the bottle, then drop the mentos in all at once.
4. Watch the coke explode.  Keep your eyes on it, it only lasts about 3 seconds.
5. Listen to the kids shriek with excitement.

Just right for breaking up the spring break rainy blahs!
